Why should I have a Video?
When you consider a wedding, there is nothing so personal as a good DVD to show family and friends and to enjoy for many years into the future.
Photographs only tell part of the story, they miss out on sound.
DVD brings the sights and sounds of the day alive once more. Your vows......the music.....the speeches....the first dance. Movement and sound together.......perfect.
Yet couples, for some reason, often assume that they should spend less on a DVD than on their photographs. We don`t understand why this should be? Professional camcorders cost much more than many of the digital cameras that wedding photographers use. A cameraman spends almost the whole day at a wedding yet a photographer often finishes in the late afternoon. A good quality production has days of post editing done to add music and blend in the scenes to produce the final DVD. Then Graphics are produced for the DVD cases. It all takes time.Yet this is never appreciated!

A growing trend is for couples to pay for thousands of digital photographs to be taken and a DVD produced by the photographer showing these stills. Very nice but what happens to the live sound.....there is none! You may say we are biased but think carefully about this and your budget. How often will you want to look at 1000 still photographs?

Your wedding DVD is also a gift for future generations. Just think, this is the first generation that grandchildren and great grandchildren will be able to see on their wedding day. Families and friends will be there to see and hear how they spoke and laughed and argued!
To save money you may also think of letting your relatives or family friends bring along their camcorders to film the day for you. But do they have the skills and experience to film for roughly 8 hours? Will they be unobtrusive and not annoy the vicar, registrar or photographer? Will they be able to record your vows and speeches clearly? Will the DVD be finished to the same high standard of a professional production? Have you considered the size of the task you are entrusting to them on what should be for them an enjoyable and relaxing time. Give them a break......employ a professional!
